Hyatt Event Planning Manager in PAPAGAYO, Costa Rica
The Event Planning Manager is a full-time position is responsible for planning and detailing sales and event-only groups, assisting with the events operation and execution to achieve client and guest satisfaction. The Event Planning Manager is responsible for up-selling food and beverage and servicing events. This position works closely with Group Sales Managers in contract negotiations and servicing groups as it relates to catering and incentive/meeting services. Primary sales efforts are in banquet food, beverage and meeting room rental and may include menu planning, agenda setting, meeting services, hospitality amenities, and special VIP requests. Duties also include contract review and facilitating communication before, during and post event with pertinent resort staff to ensure a high level of service, exceed customer expectations, stimulate optimum revenue and enhance the reputation of the resort. The Event Planning Manager will also host resort site inspections, maintain strong customer relationships, participate and lead event meetings, and other staff meetings, and work as a team member with the sales and marketing team. The manager also works closely with an Event Coordinator and other support staff. This role demands exceptional performance yet reaps great rewards. The resort will consider a start date as late as October 1, 2018.
Prefer one year as Event Planning Manager. Refined verbal and written communication skills in English. Spanish is a plus, but not required. Knowledge of Envision, EMS, EAS strongly preferred. Candidates should be extremely detail oriented and organized. Operational, with Knowledge of Banquets and Food and Beverage Planning. A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast paced environment Must be proficient in general computer knowledge Operational, administrative and interpersonal skills are a must.
